Most agents put a lot of thought into whether they should change brokerages. Almost none put the same thought into what it costs to stay exactly where they are, and that second question is the one worth sitting with.
I talk with agents every week who are doing good business. They’re closing deals, earning a good income, and from the outside, everything looks great. Once we really start talking, though, I hear the same thing over and over. They tell me they feel like they’ve hit a ceiling.
Most plateaus aren’t a talent problem at all. After enough of these conversations, I’ve learned that agents rarely plateau because they’ve run out of ability. They plateau because they’re in an environment that stopped challenging them a while ago, and nothing about a busy week forces you to notice it happening.
Ask who is actually holding you accountable. It’s worth being honest with yourself here, because the answer says a lot. Who’s holding you accountable right now? Who’s helping you build systems instead of just surviving another packed week? Who’s pushing you to become a better business owner and not only a better salesperson? If nobody comes to mind, that tells you something real.
Staying comfortable can quietly cost you. When your brokerage isn’t making you better every single year, staying put may be costing you more than a change ever would. Comfort feels safe, yet a ceiling you can’t see is still a ceiling. At Keller Williams South Park, I believe your brokerage should be more than a place to hang your license, and it should actively help you think bigger and grow faster while you build the business you’ve always wanted.
This is not a pitch to switch brokerages. I want to be clear about what this is and isn’t. Some agents are exactly where they need to be, and I’m not here to talk everyone into a move. If you’ve been quietly wondering whether you’ve outgrown your current environment, that feeling is worth taking seriously instead of pushing down for another year.
When any of this lands, let’s just have a conversation, two real estate professionals talking honestly about what your next level could look like. You’ll leave with a clearer read on where your business could go, whether or not you ever change a thing. I’d genuinely love to buy you a cup of coffee and hear where you’re at. Call or text me at 704-777-7789, email me at john@jbolos.com, or visit thejohnbolos.com. I look forward to talking with you.
